Retail Team Member

We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shops at Charlecote Park, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.

Contract/duration: Fixed term until 28 February 2026.

Hours/working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts. On average, you'll work 1-3 days per week and a typical shift would be 10:15am - 5pm.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here:There are two shops at Charlecote Park; the Servants Hall Shop, which sells souvenirs, food, fashion and home accessories and more, and Avenue Plants, which sells plants, garden accessories and a range of outdoor lifestyle products. The Retail Team work regularly across both shops alongside our dedicated volunteer team. Avenue Plants is an open-sided barn and is open throughout the year, whatever the weather.

What you'll be doing:As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shops while providing excellent service to all customers.

You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays, helping with stock counts and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
