We’re looking for a compassionate and committed individual to join our team at Rainbow Corner as a Waking Night Residential Support Worker on a permanent, 20 hour contract starting this September.
If you’re calm under pressure, confident working independently overnight and want to help make our children feel safe and secure through the night, we’d love to hear from you!
As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker, you’ll support children and young people during their overnight stays at Rainbow Corner. You’ll ensure they feel settled, safe, and cared for, responding promptly to any needs or concerns that arise throughout the night.
Key duties include:
- Supporting children overnight in line with their placement plans and individual needs.
- Completing regular physical checks and/or using monitoring equipment where required.
- Responding calmly and effectively to incidents or disturbances.
- Maintaining accurate, detailed records during the night.
- Escalating any changes in health, wellbeing, or risk to the management team.
- Being a calm, reassuring presence and promoting a nurturing environment
About Rainbow Corner:
Rainbow Corner is a vibrant, welcoming children’s respite home that offers daytime, weekend, and overnight care for children aged 3–19 with additional needs. Our home supports children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism, complex medical needs, and physical disabilities.
We work closely with schools, families, and professionals to provide a consistent and enriching environment where each child can thrive.

We’re looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and responsive working overnight.
- Understands and follows safeguarding principles.
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person.
- Has experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable)
- Holds or is working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (we’ll support you if not yet qualified!)
This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
