As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and individualised care to children placed in our care. Responsibilities
- Encouraging participation in activities.
- To provide a high quality of care and contribute to the smooth and safe running of the residential setting.
- Ensuring safety and well-being and the quality of support given meets the identified needs of the individual young person.
- Complete all plans and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain effective communication both within the home and with appropriate external agencies.
- Support young people in transitions to and from the home and support the development of positive memories.
- Work responsibly with the implementation of identified and agreed plans.
- Supporting heavily with challenging behaviour within the home.
- The ability to empathise with young people who experience emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Liaise in a positive professional manner with external agencies.
- Supporting children's educational needs and help them learn independent living skills.
- Medication administration.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for transportation purposes
- Strong understanding of childcare principles and practices
- Ability to develop and follow care plans effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communication
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £22,588.50-£36,296.55 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 37 per week
