Scottish Brain Sciences is a Life Sciences Company with Headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. We deliver clinical trials of new tests and treatments for a range of neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease. We foster the rapid translation of research into practice (bench to bedside).
Our clinical trial participants are very important to us. We are looking for a Research Support Assistant for our site in Aberdeen. As our new Research Support Officer, you will play a key role in assisting the recruitment and screening of potential trial participants and will be responsible for organising and supporting them through to the appropriate trial and for scheduling appointments with the trial delivery team.
As well as providing a warm welcome to participants and all visitors to the site, you will also support the clinical team with the general administration of the site.
Some of what you’ll be doing:
- Acting as a key initial point of contact for all visitors to the centre.
- Welcoming participants and ensuring they feel comfortable.
- Providing compassionate and knowledgeable support to study participants, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs throughout the duration of the study.
- Collecting accurate and complete data from study participants using various tools and instruments.
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation of study procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Managing and updating spreadsheets including the SBS registry.
- Collaborating with the research team, healthcare professionals, and study sponsors to ensure effective communication and coordination of study activities.
- Assisting the core team with the administration and management of the facility.
- Assisting with incoming deliveries and outgoing pick-ups.
- Participating in team meetings and providing updates on study progress.
- Maintaining data confidentiality and accuracy, adhering to data management protocols.
- Ensuring that the company complies with all relevant regulations.
The skills, experience, and qualifications you’ll bring:
- A degree in science, business or administration or equivalent experience .
- Experience in a customer service environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- A can-do, proactive and collaborative attitude that thrives in a busy environment with a varied workload.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and with various electronic data-capture platforms.
- Familiarity with data collection, storage, and analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
- Great organisational skills, with the ability to manage timelines and deliverables.
Even better if you have:
- Masters in a relevant life sciences field e.g. psychology, biological science.
