About the role

The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the extraordinary potency of vaccines in reducing infectious disease. It also provided us with an opportunity to understand more about vaccine induced protection. You will be part of a large consortium working together to dissect the mechanism of immune memory to vaccines.

What you would be doing

You will be working as part of a team studying immune response to vaccines, focusing on the memory response to immunisation. This will include testing vaccines in pre-clinical models and dissecting the immune response in order to determine the mechanism of immune memory induction. You will be expected to take a lead in planning and designing the studies (with support from the PIs).

What we are looking for

  • In vivo/ pre-clinical experience
  • Experience of working with biohazard class II and III pathogens
  • Evidence of independent research

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to continue science for humanity.
  • Grow your career: gain access to Imperial’s sector-leading dedicated career support for researchers as well as opportunities for promotion and progression.
  • Sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days off a year and generous pension schemes).
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
