Currently located in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Experimental Psychology will be moving to the new, purpose-built Life and Mind Building (Home l The Life and Mind building) a multidisciplinary research and teaching facility due to open in the summer of 2025.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join a team investigating the neural mechanisms of decision making and motivation. Reporting to Dr Nima Khalighinejad and Professor Jill O’Reilly in the Neuromodulatory Systems and Cognition Laboratory and the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory respectively, the post-holder will carry out research supporting the laboratories’ interests. The role will involve a range of activities including general lab management and administration, recruiting participants, and collaborating with other researchers in collecting and analysing fMRI and behavioural data using a range of techniques including fMRI, TMS, TUS.
The post is offered full-time, fixed-term for 12 months and is available from 7th October 2025.
You will hold a MSc level degree in physiology/neuroscience/psychology-related subject and demonstrated experience in cognitive neuroscience research. Experience with fMRI and behavioural data collection and analysis, with setting up and managing large databases, and knowledge of statistics and experimental design are essential for this role.
