Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our recovery team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, have excellent communication skills and the ability to operate different types of vehicles, including tilt and slide recovery trucks including car transporters.
Duties
- Operate Tilt and Slide bed Recovery Truck and Car Transporter Trucks.
- Ensure all roadside recovery’s and collections are made in a timely manner while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
- Communicate effectively with Operations Management and customers regarding any delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients at delivery points.
- Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles as needed to ensure optimal performance.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with Recovery lorries or vans.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and customers.
- Familiarity with Recovery operations and logistics processes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to work independently while following company protocols.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure punctual deliveries.
- A valid C+ E driving licence with a valid in date CPC appropriate for the vehicle type is essential.
