Job Title: Proposal Editor and Proof-Reader
Location: Warton
Salary: £26,471

What you’ll be doing:
- Formatting and providing an editorial proof-read on various documentation for proposal submissions, adhering to BAE Systems’ and best practice proposal standards
- Providing an editorial proof-read ensuring documentation is adhering to correct English grammar and spelling
- Generating bid and proposal templates, tailored to specific customer requirements, in keeping with the corporate BAE Systems’ brand standards and guidelines
- Supporting the final editing, formatting, production, configuration control, and printing of bid response to deliver compliant and professionally produced bid and proposal documents
- Acting as the subject matter expert for all activities related to Microsoft Office software including MS word and MS PowerPoint for bid and proposal submissions
- Your role is a part-time role (3 days a week) and hybrid, but as your role is predominantly for bid submissions and will include working towards arduous timescales, the ability to be flexible is important
Your skills and experiences
Essential
- Excellent Microsoft office skills particularly formatting/editing large, complex documents in MS Word, with established understanding of how to ensure layout consistency (headers, footers, table of contents, references etc.)
- Proofreading, with good attention to detail
- Excellent written English language skills, with established understanding of grammar, punctuation and spelling rules
Desirable
- Use of PerfectIt (proofreading software) currently used for proposal production is desirable
- Understanding of a bid and proposal environment

The Air Bid and Proposal Management Team
BAE Systems Air Bid and Proposal Management team provides support to a variety of bid and proposals across the Air sector. This means you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of diverse bid submissions and establish a network with a range of different stakeholders. As the proposal editorial proof-reader, you will have full ownership of the proof-read process ensuring all external documentation is of a quality output, adhering to BAE Systems standards. This is an exciting opportunity to be relied on as a subject matter expert of Microsoft Word within the bid and proposal management team, contributing to bid submissions that support delivering defence solutions to air forces globally.
