We have a fantastic opportunity on our EDF Project Controls Resource Framework, to be involved in the exciting challenge of defueling and decommissioning the AGR nuclear power station. This is a first of a kind endeavour in the UK. As Project Controls Lead, you will be a fundamental part of our Project Controls team responsible for leading a team of planning and cost engineers, providing cost management, and planning support to the EDF Energy work portfolio. You will be embedded into the client team working alongside other Costain colleagues, our client and their suppliers. Together with your team, you will ensure the planning, estimating, monitoring and control of a specified project is carried out professionally and in compliance with all EDF requirements.
This will be a hybrid role for an initial 12 months.

- Lead a Project Control Team of Planning and Cost Engineers to ensure consistency, coherence and adherence to standards
- Oversee the production and control of baselined, fully logic linked, cost and resource loaded plans, with appropriate milestones, for all work utilising work breakdown structures and techniques
- Support the estimating process to ensure a control estimate is in place for cost monitoring purposes
- Facilitate and maintain the Project change control and risk management processes, analysing trends and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
- Supporting Managers in the production of monthly reports through the provision of intelligent information and analysis
- Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of Project Control processes and tools to meet the ongoing requirements of the EDF Energy Generation portfolio, highlight shortfalls in Project Controls during normal operation and put in place action plans to remedy.

- Conduct forward resource planning and perform an active role in the recruitment process including interviews
- Continually develop the output of the Project Controls function to enhance the value delivered
- Previous Line Management experience
- Results focused tempered with a team centred approach
- Ability to analyse data to recognise emerging trends and suggest remedial action as appropriate
- Proficient in the application of Earned Value concepts and tools
- High level of analytical and numerate skills and well versed in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as SAP, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able and willing to apply analysis skills to take responsibility, make decisions and meet challenges within the limits of their own capabilities and responsibilities.
