Missions essentielles
As Production Supervisor, your primary purpose of this position is to manage all of the processing of barley into malt including steeping, germination and kilning. Set all process parameters to meet customer specifications while managing production costs and yield. Act as direct supervisor of Production Operators. Contribute to site safety and food safety programs
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Daily Production Leadership
- Lead and monitor malting operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Set daily production parameters for all shifts, including off-hours and weekends.
- Participate in customer interactions and department meetings, reporting progress and updates to the Production Manager.
Team Supervision & Development
- Supervise production operators and direct workflow across the plant.
- Manage employee scheduling and ensure comprehensive training in safety and operating procedures.
- Foster team engagement and encourage high performance and accountability.
Safety & Sanitation Oversight
- Conduct routine inspections of plant areas for safety compliance and sanitation standards.
- Report issues or needs to the Production Manager to ensure timely corrective actions.
Process Control & Systems Input
- Enter and maintain production requirements and control strategies in the process control system.
- Ensure system accuracy and optimal operating conditions.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Assist in resolving operational issues, including water usage, energy consumption, and product yield.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support continuous improvement and plant efficiency.
Master recherché
- College degree in Biochemistry, Chemical, Process, Agricultural, Food Science, Mechanical science or Engineering or 2+ years of practical malting, food product or related industry experience
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working in a food or drink manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience as a team leader
- Awareness of HACCP, food hygiene and safety requirements are required.
- Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- English fluent, other language are a plus.
- Office 365 proficiency
