We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to join our team in the manufacturing of high-quality, certified fire doors. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating all production activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient manufacturing that meets quality and safety standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work closely with procurement, production and site teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales orders, inventory levels, and capacity.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the availability of materials and components (e.g., door blanks, timber, hardware).
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
- Identify bottlenecks or delays and implement solutions to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Communicate schedule changes and production updates to relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and performance metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, etc.) within the production environment.
- Assist in forecasting production capacity and workforce planning.
- Coordinate with Project Managers on site and adjust schedules to suit.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the building products or fire door industry is highly advantageous.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials planning, and scheduling principles.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of fire door regulations and certification processes is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to the production floor.
- May require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.

Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
