Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for an experienced Production Planner to join our team based in Bishops Cleeve.
This role is offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

The role:
- Own the Plan: build and maintain weekly production schedules that balance real-world supply with customer demand — even when things shift unexpectedly.
- Be the Bridge: collaborate across departments to tackle capacity constraints, resolve material shortages, and reduce lead times.
- Drive Results: lead daily planning huddles, challenge blockers, and keep the business accountable to delivery promises (CTP).
- Spot the Gaps: report on labour utilisation, predict resource needs, and keep everyone ahead of the curve.
- Influence and Improve: identify smarter ways of working, champion continuous improvement, and shape planning processes that elevate performance across the board.
- Communicate with Impact: offering real-time feedback to stakeholders and accurate forecasts to customers.
About you:
- A degree in a business-related field or proven experience
- Strong experience in a fast-paced manufacturing planning role.
- Fluent in ERP/MRP systems (Visual ERP = bonus points).
- A deep understanding of master production scheduling — both make-to-order and make-to-stock.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Clear communicator, confident decision-maker, and calm under pressure.
- A mindset that thrives on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and getting stuff done.
