Welder – MIG & TIG (Shopfitting Equipment)
Full-time | 4-day week | Based in Elland, West Yorkshire
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled MIG and TIG welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience welding mild steel to a high standard, ideally within the shopfitting, display, or light structural metalwork sectors.
We operate a 4-day working week:
Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:15pm, with overtime regularly available on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding on mild steel components, typically 1–3mm thick.
- Fabricate parts to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring high standards of accuracy and finish.
- Work on a mix of bespoke items and batch production, including frames, brackets, uprights, and display structures.
- Maintain strong attention to aesthetic weld finishes, particularly where visible joints are required to be clean and uniform.
- Support fit-up and assembly tasks in the fabrication area as needed.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and fellow fabricators to solve challenges and improve output.
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area.
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding, especially thin-gauge mild steel.
- Able to work to technical drawings with confidence and precision.
- Experience fabricating shopfitting equipment, retail displays, or light steelwork is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of weld symbols, tolerances, and fabrication methods.
- A meticulous eye for quality and aesthetic presentation of finished work.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team, taking pride in producing high-quality, durable products.
- Willingness to take part in continuous improvement and learn new processes if required.
