Role Brief
We are looking to expand our production; therefore, we are recruiting for a ‘Multi Department Operative’ at our factory based in Greenfield, Oldham.
As a ‘Multi Department Operative’, you will undertake full training and join our manufacturing team assisting your colleagues in producing the components for our beautiful Greenhouses and Glasshouses.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you must have experience within a fast-paced industry, be flexible with the ability to work as part of a team, as well as on your own and be willing to work overtime if required.
The role will require you to work in multiple departments, not just the ones listed below. You must be able to use your own initiative, work well on your own as well as with the supervisors of the departments.
The main departments you will be required to work in are as follows:-
Main duties and responsibilities
INBOUND STOCK PUTAWAY
· Putaway of inbound parent length extrusions from our suppliers to final location
· Disposal of all packing materials and movement of stillages
PACKING DEPARTMENT
· Wrapping the units before despatch to ensure no damage during transit
· To support the packing team/supervisor/manager as and when required.
GLASS DEPARTMENT
· To support the glass team/supervisor/manager as and when required.
· Roles may include picking, wrapping, re-stocking and crating glass ensuring all glass is assembled and crated in readiness for transportation and in line with the details outlined on the kit list
POWDER COATING DEPARTMENT
· To support the powder coating team/supervisor/manager as and when required. The candidate would preferably have experience working in a powder coating environment
· Roles may include loading and unloading the line, powder coating, spraying and dipping products.
PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
· Manufacturing parts required for jobs production using saws, notchers and drills.
· To support the Production team/supervisor/manager as and when required.
Full training will be provided where required to ensure the candidate is up to speed on the requirements to assist within the each department they are required to work in.
Competencies and role requirements.
· Have significant self-motivation and initiative with the ability to manage own workload and work with minimum supervision.
· Have previous experience working within manufacturing
· You must have excellent communications skills.
· The ability to work as part of a team
· FLT Licence desirable or willingness to train.
· Manual lifting will be required
To have the ability to review and sign off on completion of all products to ensure quality is being maintained at the highest levels across the whole process.
Shift: 07:45 - 16:30 (Mon-Thurs) & 07:45 - 12:45 (Fri)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,700.00 per year
