Role Title: Process Operative
Salary: £24,628.21 and a monthly shift allowance of £400.21
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, 2 week rotating shift pattern 37 hours a week.
Location: Canal Street, South Wigston, LE18 4PQ

What will this role achieve?
We are looking for a Process Operative which is a permanent position in Jam working double days. As a Process Operative your main responsibility is to work as part of a team in the Mixing area to produce product to a specification using existing recipes to ensure all Health and Safety processes are followed in line with site Health and Safety policy.
The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.
What will be your key deliverables?
  • Understanding of product specifications
  • Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification for start of shift and throughout
  • Understand equipment and machinery set up
  • Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure
  • Ensure any re-work procedures are followed
  • Ensure product is to correct quality and specification, make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistency
  • Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard
  • Always maintain everyday factory standards safely
  • Carry out metal detection checks as per procedure
  • Carry out all CP (critical control) checks as per procedure
  • Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda
  • Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required
  • Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance
  • Report any problems to the Team Manager/ ATM

  • Positive attitude and willingness to drive change within operational environment
Desirable
  • Previous experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of work
  • Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)
What does the recruitment process consist of?
Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude and a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 60 minutes to complete.
Interview – 45-60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience.
