We are now looking for a Process Chemistry Team Leader to join our Bradford UK site. In this role, you will be providing a single point of contact for the chemical aspects of the Bradford DPAM, leading a small team who will support the chemical aspects of the DPAM production process and support the Technical laboratory.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that Bradford DPAM formulations are maintained to ensure that the finished goods produced are of consistently high quality and comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Working with both internal and external teams to facilitate the introduction of new products to meet ever changing customer and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with members of the Operational and Technical teams to ensure that technical issues are resolved quickly, and learnings from the events are captured and documented for future reference.
- Facilitating knowledge transfer and capture from experienced team members.
- Maintaining DPAM formulations to ensure compliance with both quality and regulatory parameters.
- Ensuring accuracy of DPAM BOMs vs formulations in SAP.
- Working with the wider Kemira team, including colleagues in Research & Innovation, Engineering & Technology and Product Line Management, to continuously evaluate the fitness for purpose of the DPAM product range.
- Site elements of the New Product Introduction process, including qualification of new raw materials and use of the company-wide ProFlow system.
- Providing chemical experience and expertise to the site where required for Health & Safety purposes, including Risk and COSHH assessments and Process Hazards Analyses.
- Providing the necessary input to assist with upkeep of Plant Operating Procedures and Run Conditions.
- Taking part in the site internal auditing processes.
- Contributing to training and development of operational employees with regard to technical matters.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- A minimum of degree or equivalent employment experience in Chemistry
- Relevant polymer chemistry experience is highly desirable, as are an analytical mindset and a desire for personal growth and learning.
- Experience of operating within a COMAH chemical manufacturing site preferable, but not essential.
- A formal safety qualification, such as NEBOSH, is also preferred.
