Printshop Operative
We have an opportunity for you to join our Print Department, as a Printshop Operative. You will work within the printshop in operating machinery and labour tasks which include plotters, printers and laminating. If there is no need for work within the printshop, then the operative will be required to work within the assembly and production team. All training will be provided over time and not all in one go.
The role includes: -
- Operating plotters
- Operating printers, Swiss Q, Versacam and HP
- Laminating and transferring vinyl.
- Quality Control awareness of all stages that happen within the department
- Health and Safety awareness
- Palletising and shrink-wrapping packed displays
- Using initiative to do basic tasks during down time.
- Communicating to Printshop manager and chargehand about issues or improvements you believe can benefit the department.
- Following QC process while operating or doing required task.
The applicant should, ideally, have the following attributes: -
- Good attitude towards assembly and hands-on processes
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and other company employees in a professional manner
- Strong attention to detail, especially when carrying final packing and QC process
- Ability to work in a team, but also able to use own initiative when assigned an individual task.
- Good attitude to work and keenness to learn operating processes
- Willingness to work weekends when required.
- Tidy worker with the ability to organise components and work area to ensure efficient use of space and timely completion of tasks
- Flexibility to learn new skills and assist other departments if the need arises.
- Heath and Safety awareness to ensure teams can work safely and that the environment if safe for visitors and customers
- Good IT skills to be able to operate machinery
- Previous or any print experience.
Training in job role tasks will be made available for the right applicant.
PPE will be provided by employer where required
Working day is 12.00pm to 8.30pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime may be available when the workload dictates this. Weekend work will be available and maybe required at least once a month
