This role is part of the Precious Metals department. Our long-standing experience in physical precious metals positions us well to provide price risk management and financing solutions across gold, silver and the platinum group metals. Our clients are primarily producers, refiners, traders, distributors/wholesalers, professional counterparties, and end-users of precious metals.
The nature of this role means that it is office-based and is not deemed suitable for Remote Working for reasons of regulatory oversight; number and complexity of systems used in the role; on-site IT/systems support in the office; and importance of quick and effective communication with both co-workers (traders/sales/support functions) and with clients.
What you'll be doing
This is a critical role on our busy Precious Metals desk, helping to manage the order flow from our global client base. The job can be demanding at times, requiring speed of action combined with attention to detail, resilience and calmness under pressure, excellent communication skills, personal integrity, and a strong teamworking ethos.
You'll be responsible for:
- Facilitation of client trading flow, including making quotes, taking and executing orders, post-trade entry into internal systems, client confirmations, trade amendments, transaction reporting
- Assisting with all aspects of pre- and post-execution trade life-cycle management, including credit checks, trade amendments, and close liaison with trade support and operations teams.
- Participation in daily London precious metals auction processes
- Proactive client relationship management, anticipating and providing solutions to their problems/needs
- Identifying and converting strategic sales targets / opportunities
- Close collaboration with global precious metals trading and sales
- Leveraging the bank's eTrading initiatives
- Marketing/cross-selling across base and precious metals, energy, and FIC product set as appropriate
- Contribute to client due diligence and credit reviews, credit applications, and transaction approval forums.
What you'll need to be successful

- Good awareness of commodities regulatory environment and change
- Knowledge of commodities market risk and related controls
- Familiarity with commodity trading and risk management platforms
- Experience in Financial Services or similar regulated environment
