Overview
YDP Cambridge are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our brand new Wraparound Care Team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, ensuring that their developmental needs are met through creative play and structured activities. As a Play Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering children's social, emotional, and physical development.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- To provide and prepare safe nutritional snacks for children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
- Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their participation and helping them develop social skills.
- Manage behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive environment that meets the needs of all children.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur during play sessions.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- A background in Early Childhood Education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Leadership qualities to effectively manage groups of children during activities.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- A genuine love for working with children and understanding their developmental needs.
- Enhanced DBS is highly desirable but not required. YDP Cambridge can sort this if needed.
