Now, we’re looking for a Plant Engineering Manager with a background in chemical or process safety engineering to lead part of our site operations at Shotton.

What you will do
This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who’s ready to lead and influence beyond technical delivery. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Technicians – with a focus on driving reliability, continuous improvement and safe working practices.
In your day-to-day work, you’ll:
- Lead engineering project delivery and manage departmental budgets
- Collaborate closely with technical and manufacturing teams to align priorities
- Shape, develop and embed either chemical engineering or process safety engineering competence across the site
- Provide hands-on support for process improvement, chemical process design and H&S leadership
- Deliver training and coaching to engineers and operators as part of development planning
- Contribute to annual maintenance budgets and manage procurement of engineering spares and consumables
This is a hands-on, people-focused role that offers the chance to influence long-term site performance, culture and capability.
What you will need
We’re looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with confident team leadership and a strong commitment to process safety.
You’ll need:
- A degree in engineering (chemical, process or a related discipline)
- Proven experience in chemical or process safety engineering
- Strong understanding of engineering practices and legislative compliance
- Effective supervisory and coaching skills
- Commercial awareness and experience managing engineering budgets
- Confidence delivering training and influencing across departments
