Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support medication administration processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of medication orders and manage inventory levels of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide information to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage instructions.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to verify prescriptions and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions for compliance purposes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training programmes for new staff members and contribute to ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices and patient care principles is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy practice are advantageous but not mandatory.
