Job Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily living activities, ensuring they maintain their independence and quality of life. This position involves providing compassionate care in both home care and care home settings. You will be responsible for assisting clients with personal hygiene, mobility, and other essential tasks while adhering to individual care plans.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication.
- Support clients in mobility and transferring safely from one location to another.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support is delivered effectively.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping duties as required to maintain a clean living environment.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings when necessary.
Skills
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and understand their needs.
- Experience or knowledge of care home environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual client requirements.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation digitally.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed. This role requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to enhancing the lives of those they assist while ensuring safety and comfort in all interactions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
