Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients, allowing them to maintain their independence in a their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Preparing meals and assisting with dietary needs as outlined in care plans.
- Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring health conditions.
- Engaging clients in social activities and providing companionship to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in client condition to the relevant healthcare professionals.
- Driving clients to appointments or social outings when necessary.
Experience
The successful candidate should ideally have:
- Previous experience in home care or a care home environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- A valid driving licence is essential.
