Job Description:

Are you passionate about ensuring legal compliance and supporting international talent mobility? We’re seeking a dedicated People Services Sponsorship and Right to Work Consultant to join our team, reporting to the People Services Delivery Lead. You’ll lead, coach, and advise our leaders, colleagues, and new starters on UK Right to Work requirements, Sponsorship Licences, and eVISA processes, while ensuring adherence to UK legislation through rigorous auditing and compliance. Your expertise will help us maintain robust processes, manage Right To Work data effectively within our Workday and HireRight systems, and support our global talent acquisition strategies.

This customer-facing position requires strong influencing skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex legislation to senior leaders. You’ll also work closely with leaders and colleagues to develop tailored solutions that meet business needs while maintaining compliance. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are committed to accuracy, compliance, and supporting international mobility, we would love to hear from you.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) in our office at Parklands, Bolton, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with leaders, colleagues, and new starters to support them through Right to Work processes.
  • Prioritise workload to coordinate new starter onboarding, expiring eVISA’s, and sponsorship license renewals.
  • Lead the application, management, and compliance of UK Sponsorship Licences, with proven experience in this area.
  • Act as a Level 1 or Level 2 user on the UKVI Sponsorship Management System (SMS) for efficient management.
  • Ensure adherence to UKVI/Home Office regulations, including accurate reporting and sponsorship duties.
  • Use Workday to maintain, audit, and report on sponsorship and Right to Work data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR, legal, and external bodies to improve compliance processes and monitor ongoing adherence.
  • Provide expert support and guidance to employees and line managers on Right to Work, immigration, and sponsorship matters.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.

We know that some candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don't meet every requirement. If you’re excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in independently applying for and managing UK Sponsorship Licences.
  • Deep understanding of the UKVI Sponsorship Management System (SMS) and UK immigration law.
  • Extensive experience conducting compliant Right to Work checks in line with UK legislation.
  • Proficiency in using Workday, HireRight, and other HR systems for compliance, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and adherence to documentation standards.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and understanding of Data Protection.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and risk awareness skills.
  • Experience of working in an HR Shared Services team.
  • HR or legal qualification (e.g., CIPD, HR/Law Diploma) is advantageous; experience with Sharecode and ECS checks is desirable.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

At AXA UK, we’re appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:
