The Opportunity

Join our vibrant team as a People Services Advisor in our Newcastle office!

As a key member of the People Services team, you'll provide expert advice and support to a defined geography, collaborating with various stakeholders.

Your role includes coaching managers, enhancing their capabilities, and boosting confidence in applying our people policies, manage sickness absence, drive well-being initiatives, and contribute to policy development.

The People services Advisor will also play a pivotal role in monitoring, analysing, and reporting on data trends, ensuring early intervention and solutions.

If you're a proactive and innovative professional, passionate about shaping a positive work environment, we invite you to join us in making a difference!

Your contributions will be crucial in creating a workplace where employees thrive. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of working in a generalist People focused role in a similar organisation with detailed knowledge of people best practices, processes and systems.

  • Have experience of supporting the business with complex employee relations cases including performance management.

  • Can provide complex People related advice to managers with confidence and self-belief.

  • Have working knowledge of UK employment law, with the ability to identify, explain and strategize to mitigate legal, reputational, and financial risk.

  • Hold CIPD membership and can evidence own continuous professional development.
