Contract: Fixed Term – 6 months (October 2025 start)

FTE Hours: 39 per week

We are seeking 2 experienced Payroll Specialists to join our team on a fixed-term basis, dedicated solely to supporting the successful implementation of our new payroll system. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional with strong technical expertise to play a key role in shaping the future of our payroll function.

About the Role:

As a Payroll Specialist, you will work closely with and support the Payroll Manager in the delivery of our payroll system implementation project. You will provide payroll expertise to ensure the system is configured, tested, and rolled out effectively. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with all aspects of the payroll system implementation.
  • Assisting in the end-to-end delivery of the new payroll system (Cascade/Dayforce experience desirable).
  • Collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure payroll requirements are fully captured and delivered.
  • Performing system testing, parallel runs, and validation of payroll outputs.
  • Developing and reviewing process documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and employment law.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for payroll queries throughout the project.
  • Identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for process improvements.

About You:

The successful candidate will bring a wealth of payroll expertise and project experience, with the ability to confidently contribute to a high-profile system implementation.

We are looking for:

  • 5+ years’ payroll experience, with proven involvement in payroll system implementation projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and employment law.
  • Experience with Cascade and/or Dayforce payroll systems (highly desirable).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, reporting, data analysis).
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work to deadlines and be a self-starter.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to challenge and influence.
  • CIPP qualification (desirable).

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary up to £40,000 FTE (pro rata for 6 months) depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact transformation project.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment where your expertise will make a real difference.

Application deadline: 8th September 2025

Start date: October 2025

If you are an experienced Payroll Specialist with proven system implementation expertise and are looking for a rewarding fixed-term opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
