Understanding of, and interpretation of National policies and guidelines in relation to oncological and haematological malignancies and development of service improvement action plan accordingly. Monitoring progress and supporting the team in any service improvement activities. Continuous review and updating of patient pathways. Liaising with the clinical teams, explore new ways of working and where agreed, pilot possible solutions and help to implement approved changes.
Manage the co-ordination of the administration pathway for oncology and haematology patients. Manage appropriate communication ensuring 24 hour GP notification standard is achieved. To undertake and support the clinical audit process within Oncology & Haematology, linking where appropriate with the Trust and NWCN audit teams. To attend haematology site specific meetings on a regular basis and advise the clinical lead on any perceived problems relating to MDT working, information and data.
