Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk (Part-Time)
Location: Great Bridge
Hours: 16 hours per week, flexible over 2, 3, or 4 days to suit you (to be agreed)
Pay Rate: £12.56 per hour (pro rata equivalent of £24,500 per annum)
Contract: 12-week temporary to permanent
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Great Bridge, is seeking a part-time Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their busy finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and fast-paced environment, contributing to supplier invoice and payment management, with flexible working hours to suit your schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Input supplier invoices and obtain relevant approvals, ensuring accurate matching with Purchase Orders
- Prepare and process supplier payments via BACS, ensuring timely payment
- Code invoices and carry out price and PO matching checks
- Raise and chase internal and external queries, including missing invoices and credit notes
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with investigations into aged creditors and unusual transactions
- Monitor invoices to support cash flow reporting and manage approvals and disputes
- Set up and maintain supplier accounts within the purchase ledger system
- Communicate professionally with suppliers to resolve account queries
- Provide ad hoc support to the finance team as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchase ledger or finance roles, ideally within a medium-sized business
- Experience working in a busy team environment, handling high volumes of transactions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage accounting software is an advantage
- Good standard of GCSEs including Mathematics
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise at all levels
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
This role offers flexible part-time hours over 2, 3, or 4 days to suit you, with a clear pathway to a permanent contract following the initial 12-week temporary period. Hariley Solutions will payroll you for the first 12 weeks, with weekly pay and accrued holiday.
