Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in
- Prepare and cook traditional pub dishes to a high standard
- Liaise closely with the Head Chef to ensure consistency and smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, following food hygiene regulations
- Assist Head Chef with stock levels deliveries
- Work closely with front-of-house to ensure great customer experiences
This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of traditional and seasonal pub dishes to a high standard
- Liaise with the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations and consistent food quality
- Assist in the creation of daily specials and menu development as directed by Head Chef
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen regulations
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with stock rotation and deliveries
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to control waste and manage costs
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
- Assist in training new kitchen team members when required
Skills
- Experience in meal preparation or food preparation is essential.
- Culinary skills with a passion for cooking and learning new techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others.
- Excellent organisational skills to maintain a tidy workspace.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities within the kitchen.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to £12.50 per hour
