Overview:

We’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic Part-Time Cheesemonger to join the team at George & Joseph Cheesemongers in Leeds. You don’t need to be an expert already—we’ll give you training—but you do need a genuine interest in food, great people skills, and the confidence to engage customers with curiosity and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide customers through our range of British and European cheeses, making recommendations they’ll love
- Learn about different cheese styles, flavour profiles, and pairings—and share that knowledge with customers
- Keep our counters looking great: neat, well-stocked, and rotating products to ensure freshness
- Slice and wrap cheeses with care and accuracy
- Support the team with general shop duties and contribute to a positive, collaborative atmosphere
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
- Take part in tastings, training, and events to build your product knowledge
Who We’re Looking For:
- Someone who loves food and is excited to learn more about cheese
- Friendly, engaging, and comfortable talking to customers
- Reliable and happy to work flexibly, including Saturdays
- A team player who’s also confident working independently
- Experience in food retail or hospitality is helpful—but not essential
