Optical Assistant – Independent Opticians, Motherwell
Are you an experienced Optical Assistant looking to join a welcoming and well-established independent practice? We're a friendly, community-focused opticians in the heart of Motherwell, and we’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and professional Optical Assistant to join our team.

The Role:
We’re looking for someone who can bring both optical experience and a passion for customer service. You’ll be supporting the practice in all areas, from welcoming patients to helping them choose the perfect frames.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting patients in a warm and professional manner
- Booking and managing appointments
- Advising on frame and lens choices
- Carrying out pre-screening tests (e.g. visual fields, tonometry, retinal imaging)
- Supporting with repairs, adjustments, and collections
- Handling administrative tasks and maintaining a clean, organised space
About You:
We’re ideally looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as an Optical Assistant (essential)
- Is confident and approachable, with excellent people skills
- Has good attention to detail and is well-organised
- Enjoys working as part of a small, supportive team
- Takes pride in delivering a high standard of care

Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 37 per week
