An opportunity to join a friendly charity working with individuals who have, or have had substance use issues, Build on Belief is looking for an On-Line Community Facilitator to deliver a suite of on-line activities via Zoom, develop and deliver new activities, and support the Build on Belief staff and volunteer team in the delivery of current workshops.
You will work closely with the Head of Research and Online Services to ensure the smooth day to day running of the on-line community. We can offer flexible hours of work to the right candidate.

TITLE: On- Line Community Facilitator

BASED AT: Home based.
Note: The hours for this post will be home working, with an expectancy of mandatory attendance at head office monthly for meetings and/or training as required.

ABOUT BUILD ON BELIEF: We are a charity dedicated to helping people who have, or have had issues with drugs and alcohol use, working to improve and sustain their health and well-being and help them lead fulfilling lives. We always run services at the weekends and in some centres during the week as well, and our unique model of socially based peer-led service provision means that almost everyone who works or volunteers for the charity has lived experience of such problems. ABOUT THE ROLE: You will work closely with the Head of Research and Online Services and partnership services to ensure the smooth and sustainable day-to-day running of the on-line community. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented person who is supportive of the work we do and is capable of both meeting deadlines and managing their own workload.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Community Management
Ensure the current community activities are delivered on time, to a good standard and within the guideline set by the charity.
Work with the Head of Research and Online Services, Build on Belief staff and volunteers to develop and deliver a range of new on-line activities.
Training staff and volunteers in the use of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and any other tools necessary to the delivery of the On-Line Community.
Contact new referrals as required to guide them in to accessing the community.
Attend external partnership services as required to give presentations about the online community.
Work with the CEO, Head of Research and Online Services, Head of Services, Head of Finance and Central Operations and Office Manager to film content for the website, social media feeds and a You Tube channel.
2. Administration
Ensure that accurate records of attendance at each activity delivered are kept and provided to the Head of Research and Online Services on a daily basis and/or entered directly to the electronic case note system.
Help to ensure the on-line timetable is updated regularly and will work with the Head of Research and Online Services to ensure it is communicated internally and externally where appropriate.
3. Communications, including website and social media
Work closely with the Head of Research and Online Services to ensure the timetable of activities is kept updated and promoted to the contractors of Build on Belief, local service delivery partners, as well as being promoted on the charities website and through its social media feeds.
Preparing updates on new and current activities for the Office Manager to be used on social media sites and the Build on Belief website.
Maintain good communications internally and externally with local partners, commissioners and other key stakeholders and contacts.
4. General
In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:
Work closely with the Head of Research and Online Services to optimise the development and delivery of the On-Line Community.
Follow the charities policies on: Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Financial Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.

PERSON SPECIFICATION CRITERIA
About You
You have the experience and skills to work independently both in a small office and from home and are keen to join a team working hard to help some of the most disadvantaged people in society. Having lived experience of substance use problems is not essential for this role but having empathy with our cause is.
You have some experience of both group facilitation and the creation and delivery of a wide range of both social based and supportive activities.
You will have experience of working with individuals who have, or have had substance use problems, and a clear understanding of the challenges that can arise when working with this client group.
Essential Requirements
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A proven track record of attention to detail
The ability to multi-task and provide support to others in the organisation
The ability to prioritise workload and work proactively with minimal supervision
Knowledge of Word for Windows, Excel and Power-point and the ability to use all of them effectively.
Knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams and the ability to use them effectively.
Experience of working with individuals who have or have had substance use problems.
Desirable But Not Essential
Knowledge of Theseus (or other electronic case management systems)
Experience of developing and delivering community outreach initiatives.
