Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Nursery cook. In this role, you will be responsible for the organisation of the kitchen, ordering stock, food preparation and cooking as well as maintaining correct and up to date documentation for the kitchen. You will ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety, whilst following the EYFS guidelines. Your prepared, healthy well balanced meals, will contribute to creating a healthy relationship with food for the children and delightful dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to your prepared, 3 week rolling menus.
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and cooking temperatures. .
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as necessary on a weekly basis.
- Maintain a clean and efficient working area, including cleaning and 'shutting down' the kitchen, ready for the next day.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- A passion for cooking and creating nutritional and diverse meals.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£12.90 per hour
Expected hours: 17.5 – 20 per week
