Neuro Pod Learning Mentor – 37 hours per week. Employed for 40 weeks per year – £27,928.48 FTE (actual £25,259.16– BRK25), based at Weybridge Campus.

The Neuro Pod Learning Mentor will be based on site at our Weybridge Campus and will be required support and facilitate working as part of a team. This job role is full-time, working on site, at the college, and is not suitable for home-working. The postholder will play a proactive role in the delivery of Brooklands Technical College’s strategic aims and core organisational values to Care, Inspire, Collaborate and Champion.
About the role:
As Neuro Pod Learning Mentor you will create and maintain a high quality and safe environment that enhances learning experiences. Some of your key duties will include:
- liaise with EHCP co-ordinators and staff to identify learners who would benefit from mentoring
- discuss and help decide how identified needs will be addressed
- implement strategies and support learners in self-esteem and confidence-building activities
- support learners who are underperforming in their subjects, either on a one-to-one basis outside the classroom or within lessons
- listen to learners and help them resolve a range of issues that are creating barriers to their learning
- draw up agreed action plans with learners, outlining the aims of the mentoring, and monitor their progress
To fulfil the role of Neuro Pod Learning Mentor you should have:
- Ability to build professional relationships with young people
- Level 2 – Maths & English
- Motivate students and focus on individual student centred activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant youth work or related field experience
