Multi-Trade Operative
Based at Lancaster Way, Ely – covering the East region
£34,376 - £36,185 per year
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 16:30pm
We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Responsive Repairs team of 20 Operatives, based in Ely. Within this role you will cover various work including repairs to domestic plumbing systems, internal and external carpentry, guttering repairs, fencing, glazing and any other work that may be required. The role is mainly lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required. With a company van and tools included the role will cover the East region.
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Repairs to domestic plumbing systems
- Internal and external carpentry work
- Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition
- Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing is advantageous
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, carpentry and plastering would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
