Community Cook – Breakfast Clubs

Pay: £12 per hour | Hours: 12 per week | Contract: Fixed-term Sept - 31st March 26 or Self-Employed Basis
Location: Multiple sites across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (must be able to drive)
The Bridge Notts CIC is seeking a friendly, experienced Community Cook to run our breakfast clubs for older residents in independent living schemes. You’ll prepare and serve cooked breakfasts for groups of 20+ people, maintain high standards of food hygiene, and create a welcoming atmosphere alongside local volunteers.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience cooking for 20+ people (school kitchen, care home, or similar experience ideal)
- Must drive and be able to travel between sites
- Able to be on your feet for up to 3 hours per shift
- Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to work towards it)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable: Experience working with older people in a community or care setting.
We are happy to employ on a fixed-term contract or work with the right candidate on a self-employed basis.

Skills
- Proficient in meal preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary principles.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Experience in a similar food service environment is preferred but not essential.
- A passion for cooking and creating innovative dishes that delight customers.
