We are looking for Mentor or Learning Support for our alternative provision in Basford, Nottingham. This position involves working closely with students to enhance their educational experience, providing tailored assistance to meet diverse learning needs. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance in their studies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
- Monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as necessary to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to create a cohesive support system for students.
- Facilitate a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student engagement and confidence.
Experience
- Previous experience in an educational setting or working with young people especially those with complex needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- A background in special education or knowledge of diverse learning needs is advantageous.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed are essential traits for this role.
- Familiarity with educational tools and resources that support varied learning styles will be beneficial.
