About the Role:
We are looking for caring and motivated support workers to join our team, providing practical and emotional support to adult males living with complex mental health needs. You will help to build confidence, develop daily living skills and work towards their personal recovery goals.
Located in Bacup, Pine House is a 20 bed purpose-built specialist rehabilitation service for males with complex mental health needs due to mental illness or complex mental health needs due to Acquired Brain Injury.
The service operates 24/7. You will work shift patterns including weekends and bank Holidays on a rolling 4 week ROTA. Standard shifts are 12 hours a days.
You will support the service to equip patients with the skills required for community living and increased independence.
The service is a recovery-based unit supported by individualised interventions. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes Hospital Manager, Responsible Clinician, Nursing Team, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, and Occupational Therapist.
You will receive training to join the team as a Support Worker where you will be valued and supported, with career development opportunities available. On going training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support, encouragement, and practical assistance as needed
- Help individuals manage their daily routines (eg. appointments, cooking, shopping)
- Support participation in social, leisure and community activities
- Work with team to create and follow personalised support plans
- Promote independence, dignity and respect at all times
- Keep accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures

Requirements:
Essential
- Mental Health experience (1 year)
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patient group and team members
- Proficiency in IT to manage documentation and care plans
- Leadership abilities to guide and support individuals in their recovery journey
- Experience in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Understanding of mental health recovery principles and practices
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care
- Care Certificate
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation
- Basic understanding of mental health conditions and the impact on daily life
