Position: Mechanical Inspector

Location: Portsmouth UK

Duration: On-going contract

Frequency: as needed

Full Time: 1-2 visits a month/week no guarantee of hours weekly; based on supplier shipment requirements.

Job Description:

The quality inspector - Mechanical, shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.
The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements:

Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
Candidate must have minimum of 3 years' experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing
Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering including but not limited to; drawing, parts lists, specification, purchase orders (POs), etc.…
The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges height gauges, CMM, and hardness testers.
Materials Such As: Steels, Aluminum, Nickel, Brass, Copper, Nylon, Teflon, Tubing
Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 Rev B knowledge is required, AS9102 Rev C, is a plus.

Candidate must have and be willing to use personal cell phone and personal laptop to support inspection reporting requirements while onsite at supplier(s) facility.

Must be computer savvy and willing to use Verify Global web based email account when working for Verify.
Must be Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel.
