Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.
Chesterfield Market and Market Hall is a great place to work, with a strong sense of community and a friendly network of traders. It is an exciting time now, with the market areas seeing significant investment and a desire to further increase our trader base, event calendar, and community activities.
Do you have the personality, skills, and drive to join our markets team? If so, we are looking for a market and town centre support assistant.
Duties include the day-to-day administration of the markets service, including income collection and reconciliation, invoicing, ledger inputting, maintaining trader records, and answering enquiries face-to-face, by phone, and via email.
To further support our traders, this role would lead on populating our social media platforms with content that both supports traders and encourages visitors to the markets.
In addition, this role supports our event team in the curation, planning, and delivery of events. A hands-on attitude is essential, as well as being physically able to assist in the setting up of an event day.
The successful candidate will need good written and numerical skills, the ability to communicate verbally, be positive and supportive, and have an understanding of markets or retail.
If you have enthusiasm, drive, and experience, we would love to hear from you.
