All Things Wild is a thriving and successful zoo and family attraction based on the edge of the Cotswolds, situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and easily accessible from several major cities.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Assistant to help with the day to day upkeep of the site. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and who carries out their work to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Mowing, strimming, leaf clearing, weeding and spraying
Tasks including basic painting, plumbing, play equipment repairs, carpentry, doors, equipment and fixtures.
Assist with loading/unloading of bulk goods.
Driving the Land Train for guests.
Assisting with cleaning/caretaking tasks as required
Construction and maintenance of both new and existing enclosures and animal houses.
Driving work vehicles such as tractors and dumpers.
Ensure the site adheres to the required health and safety standards at all times.
Assist with daily pre-opening park safety checks.
Maintaining functional operation of the onsite facilities (including toilets, lights, paths, fencing etc.)
Refurbishment works across the site, such as painting, fixing doors, repairing interactive displays etc.
To collect and dispose of all rubbish and keep the grounds litter free at all times.
Contribute to the development of and to repair paths, steps, gates, fences, streams and drains.
·To answer questions from guests and assist them in their visit as required.
Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
Key skills and requirements
· At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
· Competent in the use of gardening equipment, tools and vehicles.
· Experience and a good working knowledge of carpentry and construction is essential.
· A good understanding of building, plumbing and electrical work is desirable, alongside a decent range of trade skills.
· Good oral and written communication skills.
· Must have a friendly, professional manner and be ready to welcome guests to our park.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Understanding of best practice and relevant legislation.
· A full UK driving license is required.
· Position is full time and includes weekend and bank holiday work.
