The role:
You will be working with a team of production operators in a busy blown film, polythene manufacturers.
There will be a 2 week training program for you to learn the basic requirements.
You will be responsible for operating one of the production lines once fully trained.
The machines produce polythene film on the roll which go on to further companies for printing and converting into other products (mostly food packaging.)
There is scope to learn the technical side of the machines and become a higher grade operator and work through a further 2 levels to increases salary.
Your duties will include:
· Filling raw material bins with the correct grades.
· Reading specifications and customer specific notes about the products being manufactured.
· Taking samples and carrying out quality testing of the products to ensure they meet the customer’s specification.
· Documenting your quality test results on a computerised system.
· Following company and Health and Safety rules at all times.
Overtime is available and is paid at time and half and double time for Sunday – bank holidays.
Ideal candidate:
· Reliable & punctual
· Own transport is essential due to rural location.
· A level of fitness for manual work and 12 hour shifts.
· Previous experience within a factory environment desirable.
· Flexible to cover additional overtime shifts.
· Long term role.
Shift rotation:
· 12 hour shifts
· Working Hours 7-7
· 2 DAYS 2 NIGHTS - 4 days off.
Weekly pay:**
£13.54 per hour. (Average 42hours per week)
Grading Progression Opportunities
Grade 1 - £13.54ph
Grade 2 - £14.08ph
Grade 3 – £14.58ph
Grade 2 can be achieved within 6/12 months, grade 3 around 2 years.
