Axfar are currently recruiting a number of class 1 drivers for our client in Bellshill.
This will be a Dayshift role. With a mix of Store deliveries, Changeovers and some trunks.
Duties
- Operate a lorry to transport goods to various locations.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing it appropriately for transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with flatbed lorries.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy items and securing loads.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining delivery records.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- A commitment to safety and professionalism on the road at all times.
