Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will provide crucial support to young people and adults with varying learning disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and behaviours that challenge. While prior experience is advantageous, we offer comprehensive training and support. Enthusiasm and dedication are key qualities we value alongside experience. We have students with special educational needs (SEN) who work well with a variety of staff members. As we look to expand our team, we are seeking a new team member who is comfortable working with all students. For the benefit of one of our male students who requires a male role model or presence, we encourage applications from male candidates to ensure we can meet his specific needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals in and out of the classroom, aiding in qualifications and life skills development in collaboration with tutors and student support teams.
- Foster independence and celebrate achievements.
- Assist in developing essential life skills to empower individuals in their chosen paths.
- Build positive relationships and uphold dignity and respect at all times.
- Engage in recreational activities such as forestry, hospitality, and sports, enriching the lives of those we support.
Requirements:
- Calm, empathetic demeanor with a passion for building rapport with students.
- Commitment to supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Some experience in personal care is advantageous.
