Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of schematics and be proficient in various fitting techniques. This role requires a hands-on approach, working with a variety of materials and tools to fabricate and assemble components for construction projects. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all installations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Interpret and work from schematics to assemble and fit components accurately.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and joining materials.
- Fabricate metal structures, ensuring precise measurements and alignment.
- Perform welding tasks as required, adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, and masons to ensure seamless integration of fittings into larger projects.
- Plumb installations to ensure proper alignment and functionality.
- Conduct regular inspections of work completed to maintain quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools are stored correctly after use.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with various fitting techniques, including welding, carpentry, plastering, masonry, and roofing is advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to the fitting process.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.
