Kitchen Assistant, The Chequers Inn - Traditional Country Pub
Location : Ledsham, Leeds.
- Located a 20-minute drive from Leeds, the Chequers is a small but busy traditional style Inn with excellent regular and visiting clientele due to its beautiful location in the picturesque village of Ledsham.
- You will support a team of chefs in the day to day running of the kitchen and will deliver cleaning, preparation and organisational duties to a high standard working alongside the staff team as a whole.
Package:
- Base Salary - Hourly Pay - Meets NMW + Tips + TRONC tips system.
- Full time Hours, 35-40 per week.
- Holiday Pay accrual in line with working contract.

The Role:
- This is a great opportunity for an existing Kitchen Assistant or Kitchen Porter to work in this amazing venue. Equally; younger applicants/school leavers/parents with little or no experience will be considered in line with availability, as full training will be given.
- As a Kitchen Assistant you will need to be able to work safely in the kitchen in a disciplined and systematic manner, you will need a good level of physical fitness as the work can involve manual handling and is a physically demanding position in a professional kitchen environment.
- You will be able to demonstrate and develop skills to be completed with the supervision of the Kitchen team, including pot washing, cleaning, handling deliveries, and following health and safety instructions and policies. You will be expected to develop and advance these skills over your time in the team.
- You will be working for a management team with excellent experience who have built a reputation for high quality fresh food in previous roles, assisting with working as a team of highly skilled and motivated staff.
Candidate:
- Must be reliable with demonstrable organisational and motivational skills.
- Previous experience as a KA/KP is not essential but would be helpful.
- Candidate MUST be 18 or over.
- No specific qualifications required.
- Must have good cleanliness standards.
- Must have good communication skills with colleagues at all levels.
- To actively participate in the expected due diligence and H&S measures in place.
- Provide support to the kitchen team and to the wider team within the venue.
