Kitchen Assistant – City Centre Location (Full-Time, 5 Days per Week)
Job Summary
We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team in the city centre. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, eager to learn, and able to support the smooth running of a busy kitchen. You will assist the chefs with food preparation, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and play a vital role in delivering a high-quality dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation and cooking tasks.
- Ensure kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitised to a high standard.
- Support with stock rotation, unpacking deliveries, and storing ingredients correctly.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety practices at all times.
- Help with plating and presentation under chef supervision.
- Work efficiently as part of the team to ensure smooth kitchen service.
- Carry out general cleaning duties to keep the kitchen organised and safe.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not essential.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Understanding of basic food hygiene (training can be provided).
- Reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work.
Working Hours & Benefits
- 5-day working week (Monday to Saturday).
- Closed every Sunday.
- Shift patterns:
- Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri: 9am – 5pm
- Thurs: 9am – 7pm
- Sat: 9am – 2pm (early finish!)
- City centre location with excellent transport links.
- Starting beginning to mid September
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.21-£12.22 per hour
