At Oakwood House, we have a great opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The role is a full-time position working 35 hours per week, including alternate weekends.
Job role:
- To assist in food preparation to provide meals of high standards.
- To follow the Home’s menus, ensuring the special dietary needs of our residents are met.
- To liaise with residents to ensure their needs are met.
- To provide residents with snacks and drinks from the tea trolley and take orders for lunch and supper.
- To ensure that all documentation is kept up to date according to current legislation.
- To be aware of HACCP and all food hygiene regulations and keep abreast of legislative changes as they occur.
- To care for all kitchen equipment and kitchen area and ensure that it is being operated correctly and safely.
- To ensure all crockery and utensils are cleaned to a high standard and are ready for service.
- The dining room is to be set up, prepared for service, and cleaned between mealtimes.
- Assist with the serving of meals.
- Ensure that the kitchen, food store, and equipment are cleaned to the kitchen cleaning schedule and that documentation is completed.
