We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal assembly
- Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of food items
- Help with serving meals during busy periods, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting shortages
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in catering or restaurants
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new culinary skills and techniques
