Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while supporting chefs in meal preparation and catering services.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure that all food is handled, stored, and prepared safely.
- Support chefs during service by preparing meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events as required.
- Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to assist with various tasks as needed, including catering services or special events.

Pay: £24,268.00-£25,060.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
